TAGUIG, Philippines – IPOPHL organized the first-ever trademark convention in the country last July 24-26, 2024 at SM Aura. The event explored significant emerging trends, best practices, and the latest updates on trademark-related jurisprudence in the Philippines. It offers a platform for discourse on various aspects of local and foreign trademarks, including trademark registration, protection, enforcement, valuation, and commercialization.
Several sessions were conducted including Criminal Investigation of IP Cases which was discussed by the representative from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI); Prosecution of IP Cases which was discussed by the representative from the Department of Justice (DOJ); and Criminal Adjudication of IP Cases which was discussed by a Special Commercial Court Judge.
